La Comtesse Hotel
Bienvenue y’all! Let’s talk Paris. I don’t know about you, but when I pictured Paris I imagined the chicest and most romantic city in the world. Full of cheese and wine and perfectly messy haired women in stripes... Well, it was every bit as magical as one would think and I could not dream of a more delightful and welcoming hotel. The Comtesse was pretty much perfection start to finish.
[The Staff]
Before we even boarded a plane, we received a message from Daniel, the hotel director, letting us know the weather, tips on getting to the hotel from the airport, etc. I felt as though we had already made a friend. Upon arrival via our redeye flight, we were welcomed by Jean-Michel who was next level friendly and offered to store our bags until check-in at 3pm. We must have looked really tired because they offered us an early check-in and were kind enough to have our room ready by noon!
At Daniel’s suggestion, we walked to the Musée de l’Armée [army museum] which was a mere 2 minute walk from the hotel. We spent nearly 3 hours exploring the museum, eating at the cafe, and looking through Napoleon’s tomb. I highly recommend it.
[The Room]
After the museum we headed back to the hotel excited to relax in our room and catch a quick nap. Upon seeing the room we were left speechless by the amazing view. Like, next level movie views. The hotel is the only one in Paris that boasts views of the Eiffel Tower from every room! The room was super spacious and clean. The bathroom was outfitted with marble finishings and a full sized bath. Well, don’t mind if I do! The room had tons of closet space so we didn’t have any clutter in our room which my OCD husband was grateful for! There was even a usb port in the wall to charge our electronics [hello lifesaver for a blogger]! Our room was quiet and we could easily rest during the day whenever jet lag reared it’s ugly head. We were super thankful for our mini fridge which was used to store French cheeses so we could snack and feel extra Parisian.
[The Sites]
The hotel is situated in walking distance to what felt like a trillion cafes, we had more options than we knew what to do with. So many, in fact, that we spent the first night doing a Paris cafe crawl! We each got a drink and then split one dish at 5 different places around our hotel, ALL fabulous!!!
{Quick Tip} Let's talk about Lobby Cafe of the Cometesse!! Can you say convenient?! It was the perfect spot to grab fresh coffee and local pastries! My favorite deal was a fresh espresso, fresh glass of oj, and 2 pastries, all for under 10 euros. It was an easy and inexpensive way to start the day!! Oh and did I mention the cafe overlooks the Eiffel Tower. Boom. #breakfastvictory
[The Pièce de Résistance]
The food, the people, the sites... I was overwhelmed with the beauty of Paris, but the magic of seeing the Eiffel Tower light show from our room every night was out of this world. It truly felt like we were in a movie. A romantic movie. A romantic movie with a really happy ending.
